PAT CHRISTENSON
CURRENT PROJECTS
"Heavenly Evening" (in development)
Check back for more! In the mean time, have a listen:
Pat first caught the performing bug at an early age by watching movie musicals such as "Gypsy!", "The Music Man" and "White Christmas" when they were shown on TV. In college, she majored in Theatre Arts and minored in Music. She discovered she had a big belt voice when she was dared to sing "You Made Me Love You" to the college president in a talent show.
In November 2010, Pat relocated to Chicago after 21 years in the San Francisco Bay Area, where she performed with companies such as 42nd Street Moon, Willows Theatre, Custom Made Theatre and American Musical Theatre of San Jose.
Pat's recent bookings include a series of training videos for the Gap (on-camera and voiceover) and "The Original Grease" at American Theater Company. She's currently in rehearsal to play Ethel Merman in "Heavenly Evening."
What the Critics Say
A NEW BRAIN, Custom Made Theatre
"Pat Christenson as Gordon’s mother Mimi manages to reveal her hidden fear of losing her only child through the mask of indomitable positive spirit - not an easy task. Her solo 'Throw It Out' is a well-timed bit of business."-
San Francisco Bay Times, Linda Ayres-Frederick
"Pat Christenson as Gordon's mother catches the sadness in 'The Music Still Plays On' and then turns a complete about face in comically observing the 'Family History' of Gordon's weak genetic traits. She turns to anger in the song, lashing out about her son's brain problem by singing "Asshole ... where's his fight and vigor?"-
Talking' Broadway, Richard Connema
"...a mother’s torch song for her ailing son, “The Music Still Plays On” (nicely performed by Pat Christenson)..."-
San Francisco Examiner, Chad Jones

"[T]he evening's most enjoyable performance comes from Pat Christenson. ...Christenson is witty and sarcastic, and like most of the cast, she has a wonderful voice."- Tri-Valley Herald
FOLLIES, Contra Costa Musical Theatre
"Pat Christenson ... carries the cast in singing. Her strong and resonating voice is the most powerful in 'Who's That Woman.'"- Contra Costa Sun
"Pat Christenson ... offered a delightful rendering of 'Who's That Woman,'adding life to her character with an honest salt-of-the-earth personality."- Daily Ledger - Post Dispatch

NINE, California Theatre Arts
"Pat Christenson ... leads a pack of boys in the bawdy tarantella 'Be Italian' andmakes the most of it."- San Francisco Chronicle
